With effect from May 1, 2026, Weiß Schwarz English Edition will be updating the restriction list to maintain a healthy tournament environment. The following restrictions will apply for all official tournaments:
BanG Dream!
Choice Restriction (Choose 1 of 3)
◆ Words of Rejection, Sakiko Togawa (BD/W125-E010, BD/W125-E010S)(New!)
◆ Arisa Ichigaya (BD/W47-E082, BD/W47-E082SP)(New!)
◆ Buns For Luck (BD/W54-E065, BD/W125-E063, BD/W125-E063S)(New!)
Intern-kun note:
As much as we love bread, having lucky buns for every meal does get quite tiring. BanG Dream! has amassed a win rate over 60% throughout the Bushiroad Championship Series 25/26 Regional Qualifier circuit, appearing in nearly a quarter of top cut games. It’s no wonder our events were starting to resemble bakeries!
Now that the yeast has settled, you’ll have to choose between the consistency of setting up your level 1 climax combo or your stock swappers. This should help cut the carbohydrate intake just a little while still ensuring BanG Dream! fans are able to continue jamming out with their favorite bands and the plethora of strong utility cards available.
Nazarick: Tomb of the Undead
Limited (Up to 1 copy)
◆ A Return Gift from Shub-Niggurath, Ainz (OVL/S99-E032, OVL/S99-E032S)(New!)
Choice Restriction (Choose 1 of 2)
◆ True Vampire Ancestor, Shalltear (OVL/S62-E062)
◆ Deputy Leader of the Pleiades, Yuri (OVL/S99-E039)
Intern-kun note:
While Nazarick: Tomb of the Undead has enjoyed great success with over 60% win rate, its low usage rate indicates that players are exceptionally skilled at navigating the depths of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. That said, we’ve noted that the general experience playing against the deck is far from what one could categorize as ‘fun.’ With both of these factors in mind, we’ve sharpened our shearing tools to shear off some wool from our Black Little Goats.
With the updated restrictions, Ainz Ooal Gown will be giving out less gifts and we hope this change reduces the overall consistency of the deck by making it harder to set him up.
hololive production
Choice Restriction (Choose 1 of 3)
◆ Himemori Luna (HOL/W91-E057, HOL/W91-E057S)
◆ Relaxing by the Pool, Ookami Mio (HOL/W104-E040, HOL/W104-E040S, HOL/W104-E040SSP)
◆ Encore Just for Two, Omaru Polka (HOL/W104-E069, HOL/W104-E069S, HOL/W104-E069SSP)(New!)
Intern-kun note:
Despite being an older set, our favorite talents from hololive production have gradually seen more play throughout the circuit and now find themselves with more top cut usage than even Ainz Ooal Gown. With a title this diverse, it’s also worrying to us that a large majority of decks have since pivoted towards the same package.
We’re adding one new card to the existing choice restrictions in a bid to reduce the deck’s ability to cycle through bad deck states while also being able to overpower opposing characters on climax combo turns. But rest assured, you’ll still be able to Haachama Beam! your way out of sticky situations!
Sword Art Online
Unrestricted
◆ Shout Echoing Across the Battlefield, Alice (SAO/S100-E006, SAO/S100-E006S)
Restricted
◆ Straight Path, Alice (SAO/S100-E011, SAO/S100-E011S)(New!)
Intern-kun note:
Back in 2023, we limited Shout Echoing Across the Battlefield, Alice to 2 with the intention of removing the indomitable three lane wall. However, the title has since fallen into the depths of the underworld and Alice has unfortunately not seen the light of day.
We’re updating our restrictions to match the Japanese edition. While we don’t expect any major shifts in usage or win rate, you’ll be able to play Shout Echoing Across the Battlefield, Alice if you so wish.
You may find the full list of restrictions below or here.
Watch List
GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE
GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE continues to enjoy a high usage rate and has also seen an increased win rate as the circuit progressed. That said, we feel the so-called ‘pile’ deck relies heavily on player skill and from our personal testing, feels like a fair deck.
We will continue monitoring the situation and consider restrictions if the win rate of the deck continues to creep upwards.
