With effect from November 24, 2023, Weiß Schwarz English Edition will be updating the restriction list to maintain a healthy tournament environment. The following restrictions will apply for all official tournaments:

Intern-kun note: Sword Art Online has been enjoying its time in Wonderland, making up over 20% of players who achieved X-2 and maintaining a conversion rate of over 20%. Thanks to its ability to set up three lanes of Shout Echoing Across the Battlefield, Alice from as early as level 1 with the effect of Straight Path, Alice 
, players are able to generate overwhelming board presence.
We felt that restricting Shout Echoing Across the Battlefield, Alice provides a balanced approach to the problem as players would have an easier time dealing with two lanes than three. After factoring in the natural variance that occurs within the game, the overall consistency of the deck should be reduced as well.

◆ “Conqueror of Flames” Shizu (TSK/S70-E065, TSK/S70-E065SP)
◆ A Throbbing That Signals Freedom, Mjurran (TSK/S101-E077, TSK/S101-E077SP)
Intern-kun note: The current combination of “Conqueror of Flames” Shizu and A Throbbing That Signals Freedom, Mjurran allows players to consistently compress their decks while closing out the game with a variety of finishers. Despite being a relatively newer title, more than 15% of players have managed to achieve X-2 and it boasts a conversion rate of over 20%.
With Sword Art Online getting a hit to its consistency, we didn’t want that to signal too much freedom for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime either. We decided on this to give other archetypes within the title some room to breathe.
The Seven Deadly Sins
◆ Gilthunder: Negative Little Gil (SDS/SX03-038)
◆ Escanor: Arrogant and Powerful (SDS/SX05-004, SDS/SX05-004SP)
Intern-kun note: Our previous restriction on The Seven Deadly Sins fulfilled its intended effect, with only 10% of players achieving a score of X-2.
We’re changing up the restriction slightly to allow Escanor: Master of the Tavern 
to see play in other archetypes within the title. There’s no functional difference with this change, but we hope this allows Escanor to serve drinks to Meliodas, Ban, Hendrickson, or whosoever he may choose.
Others
Intern-kun note: We think it’s time Ghislaine is allowed to flaunt her strong body on the stage once more, so we’re cautiously removing the choice restriction on Mushoku Tensei: jobless reincarnation. We don’t expect the deck to surge in popularity, but if it does…
There has also been an increased sighting of sharks and goats but we’ve decided to keep an eye on the menagerie just a bit longer since the number of these sightings aren’t currently high enough for us to take action; not to mention that the upcoming addition of a group of fighters might just change up the smell of the (meta) game too.
