Part4: Basic Rules

Weiẞ Schwarz is a game which involves 2 players taking each of their turns.
Each player will construct their deck.

Set up your stage with your favorite characters, unfold the events and climaxes and clash each other with your burning souls.

Once your soul reaches your opponent, it will remain as damages.

When you accumulate enough damage, you will level up to bring stronger characters onto the stage. Time for counter-attack!

However, keep this in mind! Once you reach Level 4, you will lose the game.
Whoever makes the opponent reach Level 4 first is the winner of the battle.

Let’s begin with reading the Quick Manual which is included in the trial deck.

✩Notify with your voice
While you are still unfamiliar with the game, try to notify each step of your turn by telling your opponent.
By telling your opponent what ability you are going to activate, whether you have finish resolving any effects and confirmation like “I would like to end my main phase”, it would help to reduce the situation where you forget to activate certain abilities or resolve any effects.
Don’t forget to mention “I would like to end my turn, it is your turn now” during the transition between the two players turn.

✩Damage first, battle second
During the attack phase, after a player declares an attack, it will begin with the trigger check. The damage step comes before the battle and the damage will be given to the player.
The battle step, which 2 characters compare their power, will happen after that.
In short, the result of the battle step does not increase or decrease the damage given. Please keep this in mind!

✩The counter step is the only time which you can play a card on your opponent’s turn.
During the attack phase of the opponent’s turn, if your character is being frontal-attacked, you may use ONE card with the counter icon during the “Counter Step”.
Basically, the only timing where you can use a card on your opponent’s turn is the counter step.
Please keep in mind that there is no counter step for direct attack and side attack.
Also, you are not allowed to use more than 1 card in the same counter step.

✩Refresh your deck if it has run out of cards
At any point of the game when your deck has run out of cards, shuffle all your cards in your waiting room to rebuild a deck immediately.
After all ongoing effects are resolved, put the top card of your deck into your clock area.
This is the so-called “refresh”.

Example:
You were to receive 5 damages.
Your deck ran out of cards while you checked the 3rd card.
Immediately shuffle your waiting room properly to rebuild a deck. (Image 1)
Check for the remaining 2 damages after that. (Image 2)
If you did not cancel the damage, put all the 5 cards into your clock area. (Image 3)
If you have more than 7 cards in your clock area, you will level up.
If you reach Level 4 or above, you lose the game.
After resolving any ongoing effects and abilities, put the top card of your deck into your clock area.
Since this is considered “putting a card into the clock area”, it cannot be canceled even if the card is a climax. (Image 4)
